Integrated Ministry (IM) Strategy

To achieve a holistic approach converging all PFS’s ministry resources in Through Care and Family Care to support our beneficiaries as they transit in their recovery journey, PFS launched our Integrated Ministry (IM) strategy in 2020.

The strength of this strategy was demonstrated in the case of a widow “Madam L”, whose 2 sons have been through repeated incarcerations. She is the primary caregiver to 2 grand-children, aged 10 & 7, left behind by her younger son. PFS has been supporting this family for some time now.

Recently, after her younger son jumped bail for his latest misdemeanour, Madam L was devastated to learn that her entire bail amount could be forfeited.

Responding quickly,

our IM Lead assisted in filing relevant police statements, our Care Club Co-ordinator gathered documentary proof that both
grand-children were dyslexic and have been receiving special learning support arranged by PFS, while our Through Care
Co-ordinator continued to support the younger son after his arrest. A lawyer from our Professional Support Network offered his services pro bono. Committing the outcome to God in prayer, our IM co-ordinators accompanied Madam L for the hearing and the team was in absolute awe of God’s grace when the presiding judge reduced the fine to a nominal sum.

Madam L was very relieved and deeply moved. This episode clearly demonstrated the importance of having a community to rally together for an
ex-offender and his family. She declared,

I would not have been able to pull through this on my own.
I am very grateful that PFS never gave up on me and my family.
The ministry team gave their love, time and energy
to journey together with me.”

Thank you.
