Charity Governance and Charity Transparency Awards 2022

Prison Fellowship Singapore (PFS) is honoured to be accorded both the Charity Governance Award (CGA) 2022 and the Charity Transparency Award (CTA) 2022.

An initiative of the Charity Council, the annual CGA and CTA aim to promote good governance and transparency in the charity sector by acknowledging the excellent work of charities, while inspiring others to emulate their best practices.

The CGA recognises charities that have adopted the highest standards of governance while the CTA recognises charities with good disclosure practices that the Charity Transparency Framework (CTF) recommends. The CTF, which is closely aligned to the Code of Governance for Charities and Institutions of a Public Character (IPCs), highlights 9 dimensions as key areas for disclosure.

PFS Chairman, Mr Gregory Vijayendran and Executive Director, Mr Chua Kok Wan received the respective awards from Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth and Second Minister for Law, and Mr Desmond Chin, Commissioner of Charities, at a ceremony held on 9 November 2022.

Good corporate governance gives confidence to our internal and external stakeholders that our services to meet the needs of our beneficiaries are guided by proper processes with accountability. Ultimately, it is about doing the right thing, at the right time and in the right place.
