Standing Out for Christ
Dr William Wan, Chairman of PFS, co-founded in 1973 the Life Rehabilitation Ltd (later renamed Prison Fellowship Singapore) with the late Henry Khoo and Seet Poon Soo.
For his life’s work, he has been conferred the 2017 President’s Volunteerism and Philanthropy Award, given by the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre. This is significant as today our organisation reaches out to offenders, ex-offenders and their families to help and prepare them for reintegration into society. Many have and are still giving back as founders of halfway houses and employers of ex-offenders, giving their beneficiaries a second chance in the same way that they themselves were given it.
While it is an individual award, Dr Wan has in fact humbly received it for them and the hundreds of volunteers and staff who have contributed to this work over the years. It is also for a great many whose lives have been touched and transformed by this ministry.
We give all glory to God for His grace and mercy over PFS! Watch the video to see how lives are impacted at Prison Fellowship Singapore.
