On September 18, 2025, Seventy Times Seven, the IPC fund of Prison Fellowship Singapore, hosted the Angel Tree Golf & Dinner 2025 at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club. This marked the second consecutive year in the last decade that we've organized a golf event, and we were blessed with a fully subscribed tournament of 144 golfers, filling all 36 flights.
To be honest, in the days leading up to the event, I didn't have high expectations for a full turnout for the golf tournament because there were several other charity golf events happening around the same period. The sentiment was pretty apparent: every other person we spoke to were either already attending another golf event or not keen on participating due to donor fatigue. I figured, "Well, we did what we could," and if we pursued every lead with a clear conscience and gusto, then I could live with whatever the turnout. God surprised us. We not only filled all the flights but also met the fundraising target even before event day. God is good and deserves our deepest thanks.

As part of the advance party, we were on-site a day prior, and early on the morning of event day, to ensure that all logistics were in place. It was a joy to be part of a cohesive team, who showed cooperation, support and enthusiasm. This was evident in the way they welcomed golfers at the registration counter, handed out the goodie bags, offered directions, and cheered the golfers on as they drove off in their buggies to their respective tee boxes.
In the days leading up to the event, the weather across Singapore was bad but on this particular Thursday, especially over Laguna, the sun shone brightly. Some golfers even lamented how hot it was. One forgot his sunscreen and came back a dark shade of red. Again, we can only attribute it to our gracious God, who held back the skies so the golfers could enjoy a full game on Laguna’s Classic Course. To catch our golfers in action, please click here.
After the game, we hosted the golfers for dinner at the Laguna Ballroom. The dinner was also attended by some of our friends and partners who weren't part of the tournament but came to lend their support to our cause. It was heartening to witness the turnout of close to 250 supporters.
That evening was graced by our Guest-of-Honour, Ms. Denise Phua, Mayor of the Central Singapore District. In her address, she inspired our guests to contribute generously and shared her heart for our work. It was a privilege to have her in our midst. Her approachable and friendly demeanour made it easy for interaction, as she engaged in conversations with our guests and obliged when guests approached her for photo-taking opportunities.
The programme for the evening was guided by our emcee, the lovely Sarah-Ann K. It was an eventful night filled with a live viola performance, testimony, song, and, of course, a raffle draw. In addition to the golf tournament prizes, a total of 60 raffle prizes were won, all made possible by our generous sponsors.

I was manning the sound and projection system next to the stage, and witnessing the excitement of all the prize winners proved infectious. Although I was not part of the draw, I was delighted to see guests walk away with something special and relished the fact that we could spread joy n in such a generous and interactive way.
Being a part of the organizing committee and concluding the event on a high note certainly made its way into my books as a highlight for this year. Of course, there were challenging aspects like; producing the videos under tight timelines. But when I saw how attentive the guests were as the videos played, the feeling of fulfilment was tangible. I would like to that believe that they were inspired in some way.
Through every event, there is much to learn, and to grow I’ll remember that nothing is impossible with God, as I look forward to next year’s event.

Special thanks to all golfers who bought more raffle draw tickets at the charity dinner. All proceeds went towards our work at Seventy Times Seven.
