Guidelines for Fundraising and Donor Solicitation

Prison Fellowship Singapore Limited (PFS) and its IPC Fund, Seventy Times Seven (70x7), has a detailed Fundraising and Donor Solicitation Policy (Policy) to establish guidelines and procedures for fundraising, soliciting cash and in-kind donations, sponsorships, and financial support.

To maintain accountability and ensure ethical conduct, transparency, and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, the following salient points (summarised from the Policy) must be observed when one undertakes any of the above activities on behalf of PFS or 70x7:

  • Integrity and Transparency: All fundraising activities must be conducted with honesty, transparency, and respect for donors and the community, ensuring that information provided must be accurate and not misleading.

  • Compliance and Governance: All fundraising activities must comply with relevant laws and regulations and must be par of an approved plan overseen by the Partnerships and Communications Committee.

  • Accountability: PFS/70x7 is accountable to donors, supporters, and beneficiaries for the proper management and use of funds/items received, ensuring proper control measures to prevent loss or theft.

  • Respect for Donors: Donors must be treated with respect and confidentiality, and their contributions must be acknowledged appropriately.

  • Financial Management and Reporting: All funds raised must be managed responsibly, with proper financial records maintained and regular audits conducted in compliance with financial regulations. For cash donations to 70x7 requiring tax deduction, please indicate NRIC or UEN.

  • When in doubt, ask: When uncertain, always seek guidance from the organisation's management to ensure adherence to all policies and legal requirements.
